Homemade Hummus and spiced pitta chips

Do you like Hummus with pitta chips?

It is my favorite snack after work! The mystery is lemon pepper in this recipe! And you need a brush for rubbing the marinade on pitta chips!

Hummus and spiced Pitta chips

4 pitas , 3 Tablespoons  olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon lemon pepper, sea salt

  • 2 cups canned chickpeas1 garlic clove , 1 Tablespoon olive oil, 1/4 cup  tahini (found in Arabian grocery stores), 1/4 cup  freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1/4 cup reserved chickpea liquid or water, 1/4 teaspoon lemon pepper, crushed red pepper as you wish, sea salt
For the pita chips:
  1. Preheat oven to 400F .
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. Cut each pita into 8 triangles.
  4. Whisk the oil, garlic powder, and lemon pepper together until combined. Brush each pita triangle with mixture. Flip each pita triangle over and brush the other side. Top with sea salt.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes
For the hummus:
Place all ingredients into your food processor (except for the salt)and process until the smooth and creamy. You may need to stop and start a few times to get things moving. Add the salt gradually until the hummus reaches your taste.
Add more olive oil and/or chickpea liquid so the mixture becomes thin. You can finally add any seasonings.
Cover and store up to 4 days in the refrigerator.
